Marlyn Walsh Bauer, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away on May 16, 2021 at age 94.

Marlyn was born on Dec. 28, 1926 in Poughkeepsie, NY to Paul and Mary (Dwyer) Walsh.  She attended Nativity School and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1944.  She enlisted in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps and graduated from Vassar Brothers Hospital School of Nursing as a Licensed Registered Nurse in 1947.  She practiced nursing until the birth of her first child, then resumed her profession once the children were grown, working as an industrial nurse for multiple corporations in Westchester and Connecticut.  She maintained lifelong friendships with many of her classmates through the VBH School of Nursing Alumnae Association.

In 1948, she married Ernest Bauer, also a Poughkeepsie native, who predeceased her in 1999 after 51 years of marriage.   In 1963, they moved to Katonah, NY where she was an active member of the community for 55 years and raised 5 children.  She enjoyed bridge, sewing, painting, gardening, travel, and tailgating at West Point football games with friends. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Katonah and was active in the Katonah Women's Club and International Inner Wheel Westchester chapter.

Marlyn is survived by her children Nan Bauer of NYC, Ellen Forlenza (Vince) Franklin Lakes, NJ, Eric Bauer (Jan) of Kernersville, NC, Brett Bauer (Susan) of Attleboro, MA,  and Paul Bauer (Joanne) of Sherman, CT;  grandchildren Brett Bauer, Katherine Bauer Cope(John),  Zakary, Jeremy, Andrew and Hannah Bauer, Corie Forlenza, Joy Forlenza Dolan (David), and great-grandson Jason Dolan; sister Paula Anzelone of Carolina Shores, NC., and sister-in-law Betty Cwik of Poughkeepsie.   She was predeceased by her sister, Anna Margaret Walsh of Poughkeepsie, and infant grandson Walsh Rory Bauer.
