Mary F. Walker passed away peacefully on May 24, 2019 at her home. She was born November 29, 1929 in Clinton, North Carolina and moved to Poughkeepsie, NY as a young woman where she met and married the late Lawrence Walker. She worked at Hudson River State Hospital for many years and retired in 1985. She was a devout Christian and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie NY.

She is survived by her loving family; nieces Glenda Mincey, Eva Mayo, Lena' Higgs (Anthony); nephews Joseph Pierce III, Clarence Rudolph, Daryl Stevens; great nephews Christopher (Godson) and Brian Mincey, Kiam and Elgin James, Tyrece and Treyvon Whitaker; great nieces Keisha Johnson, Whitney Stevens, Tanaya Thomas, Chanel Whitaker, Kareese Rudolph (that she raised and called her grandma); many, many great-great nephews and nieces and very close friend Diana Thompson.

She was predeceased by parents Richard and Lula Mae Stevens; brothers Ben, Richard Jr. and Clarence Stevens; sisters Elizabeth, Lula Mae Stevens and Phyllis James.

Visitation will be 10am-11am, May 31, 2019 with a celebration of Mary's life to follow at Second Baptist Church, 36 Vassar St, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial to follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
