Marzell Davis as know as "Marcie", 40, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2018 at Vassar hospital. She was born on May 13th 1978 in Newark, New Jersey to Ulysses Smith and Cora Mae Overby. She attended both Dutchess Community College and SUNY Ulster.  She was employed by Hudson Valley Hematology Oncology for over 18 years. Marcie was a loving, caring and passionate woman who was dedicated to helping others. While working for many years at Hudson Valley Hematology Oncology she became highly favored by her colleagues. Marcie was a vibrant soul, one who literally lit up the room whenever she entered. And right up until she became less able to get around, she was full of joy and always eager to help out, no matter what the problem was. Not to mention she was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, especially over the holidays. She remained strong throughout her trials by having an intimate relationship with God, which was shown through her writing. Her loving spirit will live on through so many. She leaves behind many survivors that love her dearly. 2 children; Tatiana Brown, and Issa Elfaiz, 6 siblings; Willie E. Davis, Teresa Adopley, Anthony Adopley (Brother in Law), Arnetha Davis Scott, Calvin Scott (Brother in Law), Ulysses Davis, many family and friends. Marzell Davis is pre-deceased by her mother, Cora Mae Overby, 2 grandparents; Rena Smith and James Patterson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph. J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc. 39 So.
