Michael Howard Oles, 59 of New Paltz, NY passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on May 10, 2024, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on February 9, 1965, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of the late John and Joan (VanBuskirk) Oles.  Mike attended Roosevelt High School and at the age of 21 started his career with the Hyde Park Central School District Transportation Department.  Mike Retired in July of 2020 as the Head Mechanic with 34 years of service.   On August 19, 1988, in Pleasant Valley NY, he married Donna Orton, who survives at home.  They were married 36 years.  Mike enjoyed camping, spending time with family and friends, yard work and his collection of wooden monsters and men.  He also enjoyed helping others when he could.

Besides his wife Donna, Mike is survived by his family Shellie and Jason VanDemark and Sandra Ireland; his grandsons who he adored Auston and Ethan Bruce; his brothers Carl and Wayne Oles and many nieces and nephews, besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Tommy Oles and sister Joy Funk.
