Mildred Savage, 84, a 51 year City of Poughkeepsie resident passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie Nursing Home. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, in the city of Poughkeepsie.

Born on June 3, 1932 in Lily, GA, Mildred was the daughter of Will and Lillie (Hillary) Stafford. She received her education from the public schools of Dooly County Georgia.

On April 2, 1966 she married Roy Savage in Newburgh, NY. He is predeceased. She had a son; Robert Lee Davis who predeceased her at the age of 6.

Mildred had a generous heart and volunteered her time with area youth. She also enjoyed travel and soulful gospel music that gave praise for all of God's many blessings.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mildred was the last survivor of 6 sisters; Murray Lee Harrell, Ida Bell Killins, Ruby Reuben, Nettie B. Thomas, Erma Holmes and Rita Breedlove, 4 brothers; Johnny W., Allen, Willie, and Roosevelt all predeceased.

Visitation is Monday, September 19, 2016, 6-7PM at the funeral home with a funeral service beginning at 7PM with Pastor Jesse V. Bottoms officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
