Nancy Jean Sommerville (Leggio) 77 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Monday August 22, 2022, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie with her loving family by her side.  Born on June 20, 1945, in Poughkeepsie, NY she was the daughter of the late Vincent James Leggio Sr. and Bernice Ferendez.  She was a retired bus driver for the Arlington Central School District.  In 1984 in Pleasant Valley, NY Nancy married Ronald Sommerville, and they spent nearly 50 years together raising their children before his passing.  They spent many summer vacations camping with friends and family.  She was heavily involved in her church and its contribution to the community.   Nancy Jean is survived by her children; David L. Oakley, Alicia Swartz (Jeff), Matthew J. Oakley, Darrin J. Oakley (Kevin Halim) Brian K. Oakley, Veronica L. Sommerville and Lori L Rhodes (Gary).  She was mother, grandmother and great grandmother to many.  She was predeceased by her first husband Frank J. Oakley and second husband Ronald E. Sommerville.  Nancy Jean had a fight in her soul.  She fought a good battle and always the Victor.

A Memorial gathering will take place on Monday August 29, 2022, from 3pm to 5pm at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr., Funeral Home, Inc. 39 So. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (845)452-1840.  Services will be held during that time.  Burial of the Ashes will take place at 1pm Tuesday August 30, 2022, at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Nancy's name can be made to the food pantry at the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church 92 Martin Road, Pleasant Valley, NY 12569.  To send online condolences please visit our website at www.darrowfuneralhome.org
