Norma Ann Cox, 71 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Sunday May 9, 2021 at home.  Born on March 15, 1950 in Jamaica she was the daughter of the late George Cox and Eileen Wilson.  She finished her High School Education in Jamaica and came to Poughkeepsie, NY to go to College for a couple of years for nursing.  Norma finished nursing school and worked a lot of jobs in her life.  As she got older, she stopped working due to some injuries from some of her jobs.  She became disabled to work.  Mom loved her life and her family very much.  She left too soon but she is resting in peace with GOD and loved ones.  She will always be missed and loved, until we see you again on the other side.

Norma is survived by her daughter Colleen Cox of Poughkeepsie, adopted daughter Tasha Stroman of Poughkeepsie; a son Akien Lyons of Poughkeepsie, siblings Anthony of Queens, Trevor of Florida, Michael, Christopher, Paul and Digby of Jamaica; sisters, Bridgette of New Jersey, Marcia and June of Queens, Carleen of Florida, Cheryl, Sharon and Donna of Jamaica; granddaughters, Shynece Harrell of South Carolina, Sharmaine Cox, Na'Chelle Griffin, Ny'Asia Griffin all of Poughkeepsie, Fantashia Lyons and J'naya Lyons of South Carolina, grandsons; Asan Lyons, Z'Kien Lyons and Amir Lyons all of Poughkeepsie; great-grandchildren; Dy'Quez Houze, D'Laya Houze of South Carolina, Kaiden Buckley of Poughkeepsie, and aunts Myrna of Queens and Joyce Ottey of Texas and her fur baby Fluffy as well as several cousins, family, friends, nephews and nieces.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters Sandra and Margaret of Jamaica, 2 aunts and 3 uncles.
