Peter R. Monteforte, 70, passed away January 22, 2016 in Poughkeepsie, NY and was previously of Pleasant Valley. He was born on November 4, 1945 in Mount Vernon, NY to the late George and Mildred Monteforte. Peter served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 as a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. For over 15 years Peter was a wine maker at distilleries in Marlboro and Amenia, NY.

Survivors include a daughter; Rosanna Monteforte, three step sons; John, Joe and Jay Verderber, a long time companion; Cornelia Verderber, a twin brother; Paul Monteforte, and a granddaughter; Ayanna Vannoy.
