Renate Vargas, 83 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Monday September 9, 2024, in Albany, NY.  Born on November 7, 1940, in Frankfurt, Germany she was the daughter of the late Adam Laun and Maria Elizebeth Schweikhand Laun.  She attended Business School and went on to be the Account Clerk for the City of Poughkeepsie from 1970-2012, retiring after 42 years.  She was a member of the Bethel North COGIC.  Renate enjoyed animals, flowers, food, comedy and loved to laugh.  She constantly kept up to date with current events by watching the news.  "You need to know what's going on"! is what she often said.

Renate is survived by her Daughter Rene Ireland and sons David Vargas Jr. and Reyno Vargas; her grandsons David Nathanael Vargas and Cortland Robert Vargas; great grandson David Leo Antione Vargas; her daughter in love Maysline D. Vargas, son in love Doug Ireland; Angela Jefferson, Jenny Concepcion and lifelong friend Iris Bray.
