Richard Lawrence, resident of Poughkeepsie, NY known as Richie to many, entered into eternal rest on July 26, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.  He was born May 7, 1948, son of the late Catherine and Lonnie Lawrence Sr., and married Patricia Hill on November 14, 1970 who survives at home. A Poughkeepsie High School Graduate class of 1967, Rich worked at IBM, Poughkeepsie, as an Analyst for over 25 years and as an ASA umpire for 30 years. He was inducted into the Dutchess County Baseball Hall of Fame in 2017.   Rich had one son Richard Brandon who survives at home.  He was the youngest of three brothers all predeceased: David, Lonnie Jr. and George. and sisters; all predeceased Mary, Anna, Elizabeth, Gladys, Rosetta, Betty Lou, and Arabell.  Visitation will be held on Friday August 2, 2024, from 10am to 11am at the Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catharine Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 with going home services beginning at 11am with Rev.
