Rita Ellen Wise was born June 28, 1966, to the late Richard H. Swan, Sr. (aka Wise) and Bertha Mae Wise (nee Deyo) in Poughkeepsie, New York. She departed this life on July 11, 2023.Rita was raised, educated, worked, and lived in Poughkeepsie the majority of her life. Rita was nonjudgmental, caring and loving to everyone she came in contact with. She always helped where she could and would give her last. She loved and was passionate about her children and grandchildren. She always looked for connections in people, places, and things—and had a profound sense for what she wanted the world to be like. A playful, witty, and consummately curious person, Rita often carried herself as someone on a discovery of life. She was a selfless, committed person who never wanted to let others down. This was her way. Rita was predeceased by her father Richard Swan, her 3 older brothers Ronnie, Anthony, and Larry. Also, by her grandparents, Edward, and Bertha Deyo. She is survived by her mother Bertha Wise, her children Aquian Holman, Karkaya Ray (Anthony) and Lafavia Holman, her siblings Anita, Donald, Wayne, Shirley (Thomas), Carmen, Tina, Richard (Christine), Randy (Kisha), Jerome (Gavianna) and Anne (Frank). And by her grandchildren Aquian Jr., Alex, Bryan II, Alexis, Atrillion, Aviana, Izeaha, Jelani, Laniya, Aicinna, Matthew, LaKaya, Tyreck, Jamaia, RaQuana, I'making, Universal, and by her Aunt Shirley, a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
