Robert Earl Fulton, of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away on September 30, 2026. Born on May 18, 1981, Robert was the beloved son of Mona Bowman and Robert W. Fulton. He was raised in Poughkeepsie alongside his siblings, Latonya Fulton Nash and Terrell Fulton, with whom he shared a lasting bond. Robert was a devoted father to his son, Robert Earl Fulton Jr., and a loving presence in the lives of his nieces, Jasmin Williams and Jaelyn Nash; his nephews, Jai Nash, Terrell Fulton Jr., and Benjamin Sathu Fulton; and his god-sister, Nyasia George (Michael). Robert’s son’s mother, Gisenia Hernandez, was an important part of his family and of the life they shared while raising their son. He also shared a particularly meaningful bond with Jahmir Abott and Tyisha Douglas, whom he loved deeply. He also leaves behind a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Thelma Bowman, and his paternal grandparents, James and Agnes Fulton. Robert had a special gift for connecting with children. Through Playworks, he worked with children in the Boston Public School system and became affectionately known as “Coach Rob.” He later worked at Mosaic Pediatric Therapy in Knightdale, North Carolina, supporting children with autism and helping them develop their social and interaction skills. In both roles, Robert brought patience, energy, and genuine dedication to his work. He took pride in helping children grow, connect with others, and gain confidence. Music was another important part of Robert’s life. He loved all genres and found joy in the wide range of sounds, artists, and emotions music offered. It was a constant source of energy, comfort, expression, and connection. Robert will be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor, optimism, and ability to brighten any room. His warmth, laughter, and generous spirit drew people toward him and made him deeply special to his family, friends, and the many children whose lives he touched. His passing leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those who loved him. The laughter he brought, the love he gave so freely, and the connections he made will remain with those fortunate enough to have known him. His light will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 13, 2026, from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc. 39 So. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. (845) 452-1840. Celebration of life begins at 11:30am with burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
