Robert Charles Ludwig (Bob) age 63, passed away at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie NY on

November 8 ^th , 2019 at 8:03am. He passed away peacefully and pain free with his friends and family at his side holding his hand and singing his favorite rock songs to him. Music was a big part of his life and he enjoyed it to the very end. He was born September 18 ^th , 1956. Although his current address is in Highland, he was born, raised and spent most of his time in Poughkeepsie NY. His parents are Robert Ludwig and Margaret Ludwig.

He was a jack of all trades and excelled in many occupations. He framed windows at Fiberlux, he had a green thumb and landscaped, and his used his big hands and brute strength to move furniture. He worked very hard to provide for his family while he was able. He enjoyed the company of his friends and family, he enjoyed cooking, and the great outdoors. He was a fisherman, a hunter, a protector, an athlete and a teacher. He taught these skills and traits to anyone who was willing to learn. He encouraged his children and grandchildren to be tough, strong, and to stand up for what they believe in. He taught the boys to fish, hunt and survive in the wilderness. He encouraged and taught the girls how to box and fight and would smile with pride when we were successful. He is survived by an army of loved ones. We all loved him and he loved all of us. Anyone who knew him could not help but to love him. He was a comedian that kept everyone on their toes and laughing all the way through. He was a good man and will be missed deeply by anyone who was lucky enough to have him in their life.

He is survived by his mother Margaret Ludwig, his two brothers Matt and Butch Ludwig, his 3 sisters Linda Ludwig Haag, Dretha Barham and Patty Henne, his domestic partner of 34 years Sharon Barker, his daughters Destiny Ludwig, Aleasha Cole, Felicia Burney and Loretta John, his sons Robert Charles Ludwig Jr, Ray Burney, and Michael Pappas, his grandchildren Damien Cole, Amber Cole, Olivia Duncan, David Briggs Jr, Alaijah Briggs, Alexavier Ludwig-Bell, Serenity Ludwig-Bell and many cousins, aunts and uncles.   A calling hour will be held Friday November 15 ^th , 2019, 10-11am at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 South Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie NY with a funeral service beginning at 11am. Burial in New Paltz Rural to follow. Friends and family are welcomed and encouraged to show your love for him.
