Roosevelt "Pugga" Hargrove, 69, a beloved resident of the City of Poughkeepsie, passed away on April 11, 2025. He was born on September 13, 1955, in Jersey City,  New Jersey.  Roosevelt was known for his unwavering presence at Narcotic Anonymous meetings, where he offered support and found strength. He also endeared himself to those in his apartment building community with his helpful and generous nature. He was always willing to lend a hand, often running errands for his neighbors, delivering groceries, and playing the lottery for them.  Earlier in his life, Roosevelt was employed at IBM in 1975 for five years, before a car accident left him unable to work.  Family was a central part of Roosevelt's life, and he was immensely proud of the children he created. He frequently sent "Good morning" and "Love you "texts daily. He is survived by his 11 children; Monique Johnson, Rolita Hargrove, Robert Hargrove, Rotanya Hargrove, Terell Johnson, Rodarius Hargrove, Tamira Alston, Jikyeria Hargrove, Jowuan Hargrove, Briana Hargrove, and Robin Hargrove. He is also survived by his siblings, Arthur Lawson, Imelda Lawson and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Roosevelt was predeceased by his mother, Estelle Williams; his father, Robert Hargrove; his son Landocalrissan E Butler and his brother, Randall Williams.
