Rosa Brooks, 65, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on April 22, 2016 at home with her loving family by her side.  Born on June 9, 1950, in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, she was the daughter of the late Hedley Brooks and Lola Garcia.  Rosa received her Nursing degree in Nicaragua.  She was employed by the Hyde Park Nursing Home for many years.  Rosa was a member of the Trinity Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church in Poughkeepsie.  Rosa enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children; Ana Tanisha Chavez and Ryan Brooks; siblings; Artie Brooks, Ralstan Brooks and Adela Garcia, grandchildren; Tashawn Canada, Marlon Brooks Jr., Jhaytem Canada, Tyler Brooks and Leyla Brooks,  her daughter-in-law Nancy Brooks and great grandson Dayvion Spraggins.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son Marlon Brooks Sr.
