Russ D. Papaioannou, 44, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2017 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital.  He was born January 6, 1973 to the late James Pappas and Florence Rizzuto. He owned and operated Pappas Trucking Company in Poughkeepsie. On October 15, 2000 he married Della Miller, who survives at home.

He was an auto mechanic by trade, an avid Yankees fan, and loved boating and 4 wheeling.

He is survived by his wife, Della, children; Michael, Danielle, Russ Jr., Ryan and Tanya Pappas, all of Poughkeepsie, NY, granddaughter Aubriee, siblings; Dorothy Pappas and Florence Johnson of Poughkeepsie, NY, Roy Pappas of TN and Ross Pappas of FL, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Calling hours will be Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 4-6pm at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. 845-452-1840.
