Samuel C. Grissett "CHAMP", 67, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was a Poughkeepsie resident since he was a child. He was born in Tabor City, NC to Samuel Price and Sammie Lee Grissett on February 12, 1951. He was educated in the city of Poughkeepsie School District. "Champ's" professional career included working for Western Printing, Taconic DDSO and driving cabs. Driving was his delight. He would drive anywhere, anytime and in any weather. His saying was "Your dime, my time". He was a people person and an all-around nice guy who liked to, as he would say, "Chill".

He is survived by his loving mother Sammie Lee Grissett of Tabor, NC; his wife Lisa Keith of Poughkeepsie; his one and only loving, devoted daughter, Lynette Carter-Williams (Marvin) of Poughkeepsie; brothers, Robert and Roger Grissett of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren, Shaquana Mason (Gregory) of Texas, Anthony Carter, Britney Williams and step-grandson Devin Whitaker all of Poughkeepsie; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as an extended family, Josie and Jazmyn Cooper, Joseph Entenza, Navaye Bagley and Ny Kear Graham all of Poughkeepsie.

He is predeceased by his father, Samuel Price and brother Willie Herman Grissett.
