Sandra D. Brazzell Atkins, 73 a long time resident of Poughkeepsie, New York answered the call of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 4, 2021.  She was born on September 20, 1947 to Evelyn Porter and the Late John C. Bailey.

Sandra graduated from Poughkeepsie High School (Class of 1965) and attended Dutchess Community College majoring in retailing.  Sandra enjoyed a career as a nursing assistant and a home health aide.  She was a former Poughkeepsie Housing Authority Board Member.

Sandra took her fashion cues from NO ONE.  She definitely had a style of her own, with her signature HATS.

Sandra was a very loving and caring person.  Sandra was truly a woman of wisdom.  She was knowledgeable on many topics.  Her favorite authors were Toni Morrison and Alice Walker.  All time favorite singers Al Green, Shirley Caesar, Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson.

Left to cherish her memories a devoted Daughter, Vanessa L. Cutchin (Carl), her beloved Granddaughter, Charisse L. Cutchin, her Mother Evelyn Porter, A Sister Constance "Connie" Green, a Step-Brother Garrett Porter, Washington DC, Two adoring nieces, Andrea C. Harrell and Jynelle A. Green.  Also, an Aunt Vera Deleveaux, Eustis, Florida, and a long time friend and mentor Margret C. Thompson, California, (3) Grand Nieces, (3) Grand Nephews, cousins and many friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her Step-Father Harry W. Porter and Grand Nephew Zyere "TIGER" Green.
