Tahnisha N. Higgs, age 37 born July 12, 1978 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY departed this life on October, 20, 2015 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family and fiancé Donnell "Duck" Johnson after her courageous battle with cancer.

Tahnisha was the daughter of Alisa Higgs and the late Wayne Fletcher.  She received her education in the City of Poughkeepsie School District.  Tahnisha was employed at Abilities First for 9 years as a Direct Care Worker until she became ill.

Tahnisha leaves to cherish many fond memories, her three children; Davanesha Higgs, Da-Najha Lamont, Dalano Higgs and one grandson Ay-Den Taylor all of Poughkeepsie, NY.  She adored each one of them.  Three sisters; Dominique Higgs, Quanisha Reynolds, U-nique Fletcher, one brother Wayne Fletcher all of Poughkeepsie, NY.  Two god sisters; Angela Petteway Mitchell (Kemar) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Rodassa McClinton of Edgewater, FL; godson Marquez Booker and god father Bruce Lyons of Poughkeepsie.

Also left to cherish her memory, her step father DelRoy Reynolds of Highland, NY; paternal grandparents Edith and Odell Nimmons of Poughkeepsie, NY; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Tahnisha was known to family and friends as "Diamond".  She will be remembered for her lively loving spirit that will never be forgotten.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Stella Mae Higgs and Lewis Higgs Sr; father Wayne Fletcher, maternal great grandparents Walter and Josephine Daniels; paternal great grandparents William and Edmonia Savage and one aunt, Felicia Fletcher.
