IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tyrone Lee
Cheatham
August 29, 1957 – December 18, 2021
Tyrone Lee Cheatham, 64 of Hyde Park, NY passed away peacefully at home Saturday December 18, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
Tyrone was born on August 29th, 1957 to Earnest Cheatham and Minnie Voss in Utica, NY.
Tyrone graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and entered military service in 1975, where he received an honorable discharge. He retired from the Hudson Valley Psychiatric Center in 2015 where he worked as a Construction Supervisor.
Tyrone, affectionately called "Ty", loved the water, boating and fishing. He enjoyed getting the family together, sharing a meal, laughing, and seeing everyone have a good time. Tyrone had a positive attitude and strongly believed that would carry him through anything, even when he was sick. He was a man of tenacity, and everyone knew him to be a man with a "will to live". His smile was infectious and could light up a room. He was a fighter, right up until he took his last breath.
Tyrone was a man of great faith and had a strong belief in God. His hope was for better days ahead when there would be no more suffering. He often referred to Revelation 21:3,4 where it speaks of a time where there will be no more death, tears, or pain. Tyrone didn't like saying goodbye; it sounded too final, so he would say, "We don't say goodbye, we say, see you later".
Tyrone was truly blessed to have so many family and friends that loved him dearly. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sharon Cheatham of Hyde Park NY., Children, Jennifer Miller and her husband Louis Miller of NC, Ashon Lyons of NY, Deon Tillery of OH, Issac Cheatham of NY, Mario St. Paul of Trinidad, Jessica, Burton-St. Paul of Trinidad, Giselle St. Paul of England, Ryan St. Paul of Trinidad, Father, Earnest Cheatham of NY, Mother-in-law, Meena Ramcharen of NY, Sisters, Minnie Smith of Elmira, NY, Betty Jones of Utica NY, Deirdre Lake of Virginia, Chantily Taylor of California, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
