Obituary

Virginia (Ginny) Kimbark, 76, of Hyde Park, NY passed away on May 31, 2024 at Eleanor Nursing Care Center in Hyde Park, NY. She was born on December 7, 1947 in Evanston, Illinois to Fred and Alphene Luck. Ginny graduated from F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, NY. Ginny married William (Bill) Kimbark on February 1, 1980 in Red Hook, NY. They were married for 34 years, before Bill predeceased Ginny in 2014. Ginny worked for the transportation department at Spackenkill School District, retiring in 2005 as the transportation supervisor after 39 years.  On her 16 th birthday, Ginny flew an airplane solo and received her student pilot's license at Stormville Airport, then made her first parachute jump. She enjoyed bowling in her free time for many years. Ginny is survived by her daughter Sue Beneway and partner Brian Letendre of Pleasant Valley, NY, and sons William R. Kimbark and partner Jeanette Carmelitano of Pleasant Valley, NY, Keith Kimbark of Nürnberg, Germany, and Mark Kimbark and wife Cheryl of Derry, NH. She is also survived by grandchildren Byron Letendre, Bryan Letendre, Sarah Kimbark, Devin Kimbark, Brodan Kimbark, Nolan Kimbark, and Jennifer Iaszenszky, and great-granddaughter, Phoenix. A memorial service will take place on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 10am-12pm at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc.  39 So. Hamilton St. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, with burial to follow at Union Cemetery in Hyde Park, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
