William "Bill" Fox Jr., 86 of Youngsville, NC and previously of Hyde Park, NY passed away on Wednesday July 28, 2021, at Maria Parham Franklin Hospital in North Carolina. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on September 9, 1934, he was the son of the late William F. Fox Sr and Emily Schmitt Fox. Bill proudly served his Country in the United States Navy and Naval Reserve from 1952-1960. On July 28, 1962, in Poughkeepsie, NY he married Gloria Bacon, who predeceased him in August of 2000. He was a self-employed Plumber and Excavator, working throughout Dutchess County. Bill was a life member of the Roosevelt Fire District, Engine Company #2, and was Captain of the Fire Police Unit for many years. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and especially pool. Bill was on several pool leagues throughout the years.
Survivors include his children; Darla Canzoneri (Ron Thayne) of NC, Dawn Fox (Tim Burns) of Hyde Park, NY, Deidra Fox of Rhinebeck, NY, and Steve Lake of Arizona, his siblings Clovia Pattee (Stephen) of NC, Patricia Kozinetz of Millbrook, NY, Debra LeRoy of Hyde Park, NY and Julia Laregina (Frank) of Texas; grandchildren, Kaela Canzoneri (Heather Jenkins) of NC, Tim Burns Jr, (Jasmine) of Hyde Park, NY, Billy Burns (Laken) of Hyde Park, NY, Lauren Castro (RH Castro) of Texas, Daniel and Connor Thomas of Rhinebeck, NY, as well as Ryan and Michael Thayne of NC; great grandchildren, Nathan Burns, Evelynn Burns, Carson Burns all of Hyde Park, NY, Kaelyn Deck of Hyde Park, NY, Hailey Burns of Pleasant Valley, NY, Annabella Castro of Texas, and Thea Castro of Texas; his Firefighting family, and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings Henry Fox and Stephen Sokol and niece Hope McLucas.
