Albert Butler Sr., 86 departed this life on March 13, 2023. Born November 19,1936 in Saluda, S.C. to the late Emory Butler Sr. and Lucille Hill. He was educated in Saluda Public Schools. In 1953 he moved to Washington, D.C., where he met the love of his life Dorothy Johnson. They relocated to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. in 1964 and later married on February 7, 1975. In 1992 he retired from Hudson River Psych Hospital after 25 years of service.
Predeceased by his wife Dorothy Butler, 1 son James Epps, 1 granddaughter Aliyah Merritt, 3 grandsons Kelvin Chase, Eugene Johnson, & Marvin Butler Jr., 3 brother in-laws Sylvester Johnson Sr., Ernest Smith, & Larry Johnson Sr.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 24, 2023, from 10am to 11am at Beth-El Church of God in Christ 91 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Homegoing Service begins at 11am with Superintendent, Dr. Dwight A. Hunt officiating. Burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J.
