"Carmen served in NYC as a nurse for many years, suffering an on-the-job injury from which she wasn’t expected to walk again. She fought hard and beat the odds as God gave her strength. She had many trials after that but held on to her faith in Jesus Christ her Lord & Savior and depended on His constant presence in the Person of His Holy Spirit. Her latest trial was dealing with COPD which took her, too soon, for those she left behind.
Carmen was a faithful attendee of New Beginnings, a C & MA Church Poughkeepsie as long as she was able, and developed friendships there that helped sustain her through her difficulties. One of our fondest memories was hearing her voice boldly and energetically singing praises to Jesus with joy and abandon in His presence. She will be deeply missed. We're sure she is praising Jesus now exponentially more than she did here and is experiencing the perfect heavenly body she longed for.
Her daughters, for whom she would have done anything she could, were her life on this earth, though things were difficult here. Her kindness and generosity were abundant, and her heart for people was huge, as evidenced by her prayers for them: she loved her friends unconditionally. Her deepest joy would be that her entire family and all she knew would know Christ personally and commit their whole lives in service to Him, experiencing the beauty of His Presence for themselves.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday August 26, 2023 at New Beginnings, 35 DeGarmo Road, Poughkeepsie, NY at 11:30am -1:00pm. Final rest will be at the family’s convenience."
