Edward Leslie Williams passed away on January 24, 2022. He was 92 years old. Mister Ed, as he was affectionately called by his co-workers at the NYS Department of Transportation Region 8 Poughkeepsie, was born on August 23, 1929. His parents were Edward Williams and Helen Demsky. Ed was a lifelong resident of the City of Poughkeepsie. He graduated from Poughkeepsie High School. From 1951-1956, he served in the US Army and the Army Reserve. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. Ed worked for the State of New York in various positions for over 40 years. At the time of his death, he was still working. He had the distinction of being the oldest working employee at the New York State Department of Transportation. Ed loved baseball. For years, he played on a local team. In 2003, he was honored by becoming a member of the Dutchess County Baseball Hall of Fame. Ed is survived by Linda and Henry Simmons and their family, Augusta Alba and her family, Laura Shano-Mossakowski, as well as many additional cousins and his co-workers at NYS DOT. Visitation is Tuesday February 1, 2022 10-11AM with a funeral service beginning 11AM at the Joseph J.
