Harriet D Mickell Jennings Jarrett was born on October 3, 1947, in South Carolina, Waterboro. Her mother was Rita Jennings Mickell, and her father was Marvin Mickell Sr. Harriet moved to New York, where she spent the majority of her life in the Bronx. While in the Bronx she met her husband and father of her 6 kids Gerard Michael. She was a loving mother to Gerard M Jackson, Vanessa D Jackson, Venessa S Jackson Heron, Pierre Michael Jackson, Laura Kisha Jackson and Raven Jackson Gray. One thing that was very important to Harriet was her education. Once she saw her kids were older, she decided it was time for her to go back to school. Harriet attended New Rochelle College where she got a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She then went on and earned multiple certificates such as Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling, Assessment, Clinical and Treatment Planning, Professional and Ethical Responsibility and Documentation along with many others. If it is one thing that Harriet told us, it was always put God first. She always told us God comes first and always put him there never put him last. She prayed every day of the week and went to church every Sundays. She told us always put God in your life never forget him. Jesus is everything and always remember that teach your kids about God and Jesus; to keep them in church, to live by the Bible, believe in his word, treat people with kindness respect and have mercy on others that do wrong by you and forgive them always it’s not for them but for yourself because that is the way of the Bible and Jesus. Jesus loved us unconditionally and that’s what my mother always told us in this world not by the flesh. Always remember the good not the bad. She was loved by all her friends, and whoever met her loved her. She was elegant, smart and beautiful. Whenever she met someone, she treated them with respect, kindness, and forgiveness. She never had a nasty thing to say about anybody. She always looked up to whoever came across her way she was always polite and sweet to them, and always told them, have a blessed day and God loves you. Harriet D Mickell Jennings Jarrett has 20 grandkids and 6 great grand kids. She left a legacy and what she taught and said will never be forgotten and will live on forever. Rest in peace, we all love you and you will never be forgotten. You live in our hearts, and in our souls. You are an angel looking over us now. She wanted us to put God in our lives and to never forget him. Harriet prayed every day and went to church every Sunday. She would say God and Jesus kept them in church and to be forever thankful for that, that we should believe in the bible and follow its word. She told her kids to treat people with kindness, respect, to have mercy on others that do wrong by you and forgive them. You forgive for yourself not for them because that is the way of the Bible and Jesus’s life. He loved us unconditionally.
