Irving Peter Killmer, 82 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully at the Renaissance Rehabilitation Center in Staatsburg, NY with his family by his side. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on March 25, 1931 he was the son of the late Irving P. Killmer and Eileen (Freer) Killmer. Irving was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. Irving was employed by Effron Fuel Oil Company in Poughkeepsie for 32 years. From 1954 to 1956 his was a New York State Trooper, at Stoney Point NY. Irving proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corp from 1950 to 1952 serving in the Korean War. He received 2 medals, The Korean Service medal and UN Ribbon. His True love was Painting and was a self-taught Artist. On May 8, 1954 at St. Mary's of the Snow Church in Saugerties, NY he married Joan H. Hoffmann. Survivors include his Son, Peter D. Killmer and wife Nicole; grandchildren; Ariel (Julian) Taylor, Tara Killmer and Megan Killmer; great grandchildren Jayden and Braylon; Daughter Stacey DeStefano and husband David; grandchildren Liane Dalton, Earnest Ray Dalton III and Augustus DeStefano; Daughter Vanessa Killmer and her FiancAC.e Richard Hamedl; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents Irving was predeceased by his ex-wife Delores O. Killmer and sister Eileen Hoch. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations are sent in Irving's memory to The Disabled American Veterans in Cincinnati, OH or St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain SD.
