Jacqueline Michelle Reilly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2022. On September 5, 1964, Jacqueline was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, to Selma and Peter Reilly. She was predeceased by her grandparents Josephine and Conrad Reilly, her parents Selma Callender and Peter Reilly, and her dearest friend Diana Jones.
Jacqueline was a compassionate, intelligent, ambitious, and beautiful woman. At an early age, she was independent and determined to pursue her dreams. She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and then obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from NYU. Jacqueline’s next adventure led her to drive cross country to live in California, where she worked tirelessly assisting youth residents and their families at La Puente Mental Health. When it was time for Jacqueline to return home, she followed her passion for styling hair and obtained her Cosmetology License and Master Barber License. Jacqui’s entrepreneurial mind and dedication to hard work led her to establish “Jacqui’s Beauty Salon” at several locations throughout the Hudson Valley, including partnering with her mother, Selma, to establish “SelCal,” the first Black-owned beauty supply store in Poughkeepsie.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jacqui had many talents, including her angelic singing voice; she loved to cook and was a top chef in the kitchen. Jacqui was a beautiful person inside and out, who loved to help people, give good truthful advice, and love her family with all of her heart.
Jacqueline is survived by her daughters Tiffany Lawrence and Clavia Jourdan; three grandchildren, Arianna Jourdan-Kitson, Aaron Jourdan-Kitson, and Sharif Parker, Jr.; her sister Lauren Reilly; two Godchildren Daun-esia Moore and David Parker, Jr.; two uncles, John Reilly, Minister Theopolish Moore and a host of relatives and friends.
