James C. Moseley entered into eternal rest on February 25, 2022, surrounded by his family.
James C. Moseley was born in Brunswick County, Virginia on April 9,1931 to John H. And Fannie C. Moseley. He attended Brunswick County Public School and at an early age he was baptized and joined Hickory Run Baptist Church in Rawlings, Virginia. He married Bertha Lee Hicks on August 15, 1952. From this Union four children were born.
James and Bertha migrated to Dutchess County in the 60’s. Upon their arrival they became members of Central Baptist Church in Salt Point NY. James was employed by DeGrodt Brothers Construction Company. Mr. Moseley loved working with his hands and he built and created many things in his lifetime. He was well known for his majestic vegetable garden which he cultivated and shared with everyone in the community. He loved to fish and was a celebrated dancer.
He leaves to cherish is memories one brother Frank; three daughters, Dale, Charlene and Elaine; nine grandchildren: MonRay, Monica, Michael, Michelyn, Meghan, Allen, Jr., Shamarae, Senghor and Shalaine. Nineteen great grandchildren: Michael Green, LaTeek, Ta’Quan, Isaiah, Ishmel, Aniyah, Ionni, Tonea, Malayah, Imari, Zion, Katelyn, Maelyn, Monejiah, Anissa, Kevin. Jr., Da’Nea, Damonie, and Amir Lee; one great-great grandson, Quinton, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
James was predeceased by his wife of 68 years Bertha and his son Calvin, his two, sisters: Elizabeth Burns and Gladys Tucker and his four brothers: Willie, LeRoy, Herman and John Eddie.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Central Baptist Church, 26 Church Road, Salt Point NY from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
ALL COVID RESTRICTIONS WILL BE OBSERVED.
Reverend Dr. Savona V. Roberts will be officiating.
