Jeanette Harvard, 62, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2014. She was born in Troy, Alabama on October 22, 1951 to the late J.P. Johnson and Ruthie Mae Johns. Jeanette graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1978 and attended Dutchess Community College. In Poughkeepsie, NY she married Alvin Jerome Harvard in 1982. Jeanette worked for Pius XII Youth and Family Services in Poughkeepsie, NY retiring in 2002. She was a member of Beth-el Church of God in Christ, enjoyed spending time together with family and friends, and watching Christian television. Survivors include; a daughter, LaTravia Johnson-Smith and her husband Randy, a son; Kanell J. Harvard, siblings; Joseph Johnson (Esther), Anne Cheatham (Ernest), Doris O. Johnson, Peggy Ann Johnson, and Evelyn Johnson, 6 grandchildren; Shamere, Ivianna, Zaria, Savion, Re'Quan, and Raine, 2 great grand's; Samaya and Kaiden, a special sister-friend; Coritta Smith, and a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jeanette was predeceased by a daughter; Kaneidra Harvard, brothers; James Edward, Columbus, Curtis, and Robert Johnson, and a sister; Bettie Cropp. Visitation is Friday, September 5, 2014, 10-11AM at the Bethel Church of God in Christ, 91 Hooker Ave Poughkeepsie, NY. A celebration of Jeanette's life begins at 11AM with Dr. Dwight A. Hunt officiating. Interment to follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Joseph J.
