Kevin Granado Morris, also known as Shines, Marthy or Black Boy, was born on October 21, 1973 in Prospect, St. Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies to proud parents Vivienne Montaque and Barrington Morris Sr.
His formal education started at Prospect Basic, McCarthy Basic and Lyssons Primary. While at Lyssons Primary, he developed the love for dancing. He would often appear on Louise Bennette ring-ding show, which was aired on Jamaica Broadcasting Corp.
After leaving Primary School, he went to St. Thomas Technical High School. He was a jack of all trades, as he did many different jobs, which included being a Mason.
Kevin made a difference in the lives of many people. Often times he would assist friends and family in any way he could. He did not have to know you to lend a hand, he just wanted to help. Everywhere he went he would always have a pleasant smile and was always laughing. To many he was a mentor, friend, counselor or nutritionist.
In 2000 he migrated to NY to re-unite with his father. On July 20, 2000, in Poughkeepsie, NY, he married Juanita Brooks, they were married 16 years.
He leaves to mourn his parents, wife; Juanita Brooks-Morris, children; Kevin and Aniyah, step-children; Atinauj and Ayannah, seven brothers, two sisters and a host of close friends, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by his grandparents; Gerald Montague and David Morris, grandmothers; Josephine Montague and Francella Morris.
