Kevin Sprow aka “Infinite” Sunrise May 12,1961– Sunset July 20, 2022 In life he lived with the ability to have an impactful presence with his family and his friends. Known as “Infinite” by his friends, Pops by his amazing son and his daughter in law, Daddy by his beautiful daughters, grandpa by his grandchildren, Bro by his sisters and Brothers, Uncle Kevin by his nieces and nephews, and Poppy by the love of his life. He had an impact on all that were touched by his life. Born: Kevin Carlton Sprow as the son to Shirley Postell and James Sprow on May 12, 1961 in Poughkeepsie, New York. Kevin grew up in Poughkeepsie, attended Poughkeepsie schools and received his High School Diploma by attending Marist. He also took some College courses while attending Marist. Kevin played HS sports while attending school. He had a passion for all Sports. Kevin Sprows charismatic personality resulted him in fathering several amazing children. He loved his family… especially his children and grandchildren. Kendria Walton was his firstborn. She lived with Kevin’s mom Shirley when she was young. She was graced with many beautiful qualities from living with her grandmother. Kevin always praised her for being a really good mom to his adorable granddaughters. They had an insincly close relationship. Karif Johnson, Kevin’s son had strong family values that were always encouraged by his mom. He was the bridge for many of the gaps that develop in families as a result of life. Karif and his Dad had a beautiful loving relationship. They always discussed (more like debated) over Basketball, Boxing and UFC. They mutually love each other. Karif’s wife Natalie was just as important to Kevin as his son was. They were like father and daughter. They genuinely looked out for each other. Marika Sprow is intelligent and athletic. She was often praised by Kevin for her athletic abilities in Basketball while she attended college on Long Island. He said she was capable of being an NBA player. He always watched her games on television. Tamara Sprow and her Dad had a beautiful closeness. He was very proud of how she took the responsibility of raising her kids by working to provide a really nice home. He bragged about how well she kept her home. Tamara was Kevin’s rider. Tamara loved the Influence that her dad had on showing her how to defend herself. Kavisha Sprow always believed she was her Kevins favorite. They were best friends. He was her confidant. They had an unbreakable bond. They face timed on a regular basis. Their daily conversations meant everything to both of them. He was very proud of her accomplishments as a graduated Dental Assistant. Melena Sprow was Kevin’s youngest child. Kevin spoke about her beautiful Sprow features. He wanted her just like all of his children to know he sincerely loved them all. Kevin had a great relationship with all his “grand babies” as he called them: Sincere Johnson, Serenity Ramirez,, Maiya Johnson, Amani Johnson, Amir Johnson Juelz Ledgister, Tamia Ledgister, Khalil Johnson, Skyla Walton and Raina Walton Kevin had several sisters and brothers. His maternal siblings were: One sister from his mom, Kishana Phoenix-Charles. Her husband Gary Charles was much more than a brother inlaw. He was a brother. He cared for Shirley as though she were his mom. His brother Brian Atkins and his wife, His brother Dave Brooks. ,His brother Corey Whittaker On his Paternal side his siblings were: Jeffrey Gatewood, Regina Petteway-Williams Carlton Williams (Regina’s Husband) Carla Glover, Mandy Sprow,Tiant Sprow Kevin also leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom he Loved dearly. Kevin worked several jobs throughout his life. He enjoyed doing construction among other jobs of labor. Kevin was able to do various jobs including department store remodeling, which encouraged him to study and complete OSHA requirements to become OSHA certified. Kevin lived in Poughkeepsie for most of his life. He loved spending time with his family… most of all his kids. He enjoyed several activities like basketball, fishing, swimming and cooking. He was an avid chess player. He met regularly with his friend Larry Gantt to see who would defeat who in their weekly chess games. Kevin even took the time to teach children how to play the game if chess if they were interested. He spent time refereeing youth games and also did some coaching. Kevin was known for his ability to be a tremendous cook. It did not matter what was on the menu, his family always knew it would be good! From incredible steaks to his incredible spaghetti and Shirley’s amazing sauce. Family meals were one of the ways that he showed love for his family. Kevin eventually moved to Kingston where he lived for about fifteen years with the love of his life, Nina Dawson and her son Poppo. He loved them both. He always made it known that Nina was the “love of his life.”He developed an extended family on the Kingston side, especially his loving relationship with Miss Lottie (Nina’s Mom). Kevin spent the last year of his life caring for his mom, Shirley Atkins up until his sister Kishana Phoenix-Charles moved their mom into her home for loving care until her recent passing. Kevin’s final months were spent with his son Kyrif Johnson and his beautiful wife Natalie who made a safe space for Kevin to be with all that loved him. Kevin “Infinite” Sprow had a profound affect in the many lives that he touched. Kevin’s bow legs were one of his distinct feature. He was intelligent and loving to those that meant most to him. He will be missed … but we will all continue to love him… to the moon n back
