Was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on September 16th 1925 to the late Hollis ‘Bill’ and Mattie Sue Dyer. She was the youngest of four girls, born to this union and upon their mother’s death they were raised by their late grandparents Sam and Lillie Benton. Linda was preceded in death by 3 sister Ater’Mae Curtis, Sarah McDonald, Martha Boyd and one half brother. (All deceased)
Linda professed her love for God as a young child at Cumberland Presbyterian church in Fayetteville Tennessee . She attended school at Lincoln county public school.
She married Joe H. Jennings (deceased) in May 1943. Together they made four beautiful children. The eldest being their daughter JoeAnn Jennings and their sons Michael (deceased) Tommy and Melvin Jennings. She later married her second husband William “Robbie” Robinson. (deceased)
Linda moved to Poughkeepsie , NY in the 60’s and became a member of bethel COGIC. She was a pastors aid member and served on the communion board.
She always kept God first in her life. Linda was a sweet, loving ,faithful, humble mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, a sister. An aunt, cousin and friend to so many.
Linda was a hard working lady. She was one of the 400,000 workers who worked for NASA during the first moon landing. She also worked as an cook for Franklin D Roosevelt Jr. following by taking care or Dr. & Mrs. Freeman up until her retirement.
She loved to go fishing, go to church, cook, and spend time with her family. She was sweet and so graceful and never complained. A true definition of a LADY.
Friday morning, February 11, 2022 Linda was called to her eternal home, leaving peacefully in her sleep. She leaves to love and cherish in memory her kids: JoeAnn, Tommy and Melvin Jennings. Her grandchildren: Linda Marigny, Terri Tolliver, Tamicca Jennings, Kimberly Jennings, Kali Macall Crystal Beasley, Antoinnette Longshore (deceased) Joanna Jennings (deceased) Anthony Jennings (deceased). Along with a bunch of beautiful great grand and great great grandchildren, Nieces and nephews, Who she loved all so much.
She especially wanted to thank her caregivers Adriana Guzman, Patti Galaburda, Dana and Dasia Tolliver and Jeiana Pruitt.
