Michael Selin

Michael Carl Selin passed away at his home on Monday May 3rd, 2021 at the age of 70.He lived in the house that he grew up in, in Poughkeepsie, NY with his wife and soul mate of almost 50 years, Jane Selin (Galas) and his cats and dogs. Michael was born February 10, 1951 at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie. In addition to his wife Jane Selin (Galas), Michael is survived by his daughters Cazandra Selin and Michaella Csizmar, son in laws Aaron London and Eric Csizmar, grandchildren, Izaiah London, Michael London, Izabel London, Alexander Csizmar, Braeden Csizmar, Chase Csizmar and great grandchild Mylez London. Predeceased by his loving mother and father, Catherine Selin (Riedinger) and Carl Selin. Michael served in the United States Army from 1971-1973 and was honorably discharged. Michael graduated from Dutchess Community College first in 1991 with his A.A.S. in Computer Information Systems and in 2001 with his A.A.S. in Electrical Technology.  Over the years Michael had many interests, which included photography and painting.He enjoyed playing with, teaching and teasing all of his grandchildren. Michael also enjoyed caring for and spoiling his animals. Michael enjoyed telling stories of past and talking politics. Michael was a Husband, Father, Mentor and Best Friend to his family and he will be greatly missed. There is no doubt that he was considered a very interesting character by all the people that he met.A graveside burial will be held Friday May 7, 2021 at 11am at St. Peters Cemetery, 171 Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.Arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph J Darrow Funeral Home Inc. in Poughkeespie, NY.
