Ronald Stokes

Ronald Stokes age 66, a lifelong Resident of Poughkeepsie New York, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family, Ronald gently closed his eyes to take his Eternal Peaceful Rest to be with his Lord and savior, On November 7th, 2022. 

  Son of the late Cleven "Pete" Stokes and Ethel Lee "Bay" Williams -Stokes he was born on July 14th, 1956, at St. Francis Hospital. now known as Westchester Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie NY.    

  Ron received his education in the city of Poughkeepsie School District where he obtained his high school diploma.  Mr. Stokes was employed with IBM for 30 years until he retired November 2021.  He married the love of his life Angela L. Twyman on September 15th, 2002, at the beautiful Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park, NY. They shared 20 years of marriage.  

 In 2006 Ronald got back in touch with his faith by returning back to Beluah Baptist Church for restoration. under the Christian leadership of Rev. Jesse V Bottoms.  With God's Grace and Mercy on October 11th, 2022, Ron celebrated 27 years of Sobriety. 

 Ron had  a Love for sports, he was a dedicated Giants and Yankees fan, during his younger years he played Pop-warner football, he also was a member of the Tighten- Ups as a young man. His Passion for it led him to currently become the Vice Commander of the Tighten- Up Precision Drill Team. 

 Left to cherish fond memories his loving wife Angela L. Stokes.  Two sons Vaughan M. Stokes Poughkeepsie, NY, Graydon E. Reed III (Bobby Jo) of Newark NY.   2 daughters Juanita L Stokes of Poughkeepsie, NY.   Danyelle S. Reed of Catskill, N.Y.   To sister Renee B. Stokes of Gastonia NC and Darleen Daniels of Poughkeepsie NY.

 13 Grandchildren that he Love so much (Pop-Pop Angels) Taishon Stokes, Tyann Stokes, Jazlyn Harvard, Treyvon Stokes, Nyaira Harvard Jahquel Harvard, Katana Stokes, Yanasha Reed, Zyasia Skipwith, Zion Reed, Ajahnae Reed, Bryelle Stokes. Two Great-Grands, Jaelyn Harvard and Nevaeh Catholic. To his Five bonus Grandsons.  (Pop-Pop Love you too.)

One Aunt Maxine Slater. Four Special Friends, Elliott Abney, Paul and Janice Hall, and Ms. Betty. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ron was Predeceased in Death by his Parents Cleven and Ethel Stokes, grandparents Ora Williams, Joseph and Anna "Winnie" Stokes.  Two Sisters Romaine Stokes and Sandra Riley-Williams. Two Aunts Elizabeth "Boot" Williams and Jessie Branch. A Special Cousin David "lil.Bruh" Petteway.

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 15, 2022, from 10am to 11am with going home services beginning at 11am at the Beluah Baptist Church 92 Catherine Street Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.  Burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J.
