John H. Darrow
2nd Generation 1958-2019
John H. Darrow worked alongside his father beginning as young as 10 years old, learning the pride his father showed in serving families. His younger brothers helped along during these times. He graduated from the American Academy in New York City earning his Funeral Director's License in 1958. The Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home inc. continues at its original location of tradition to serve families of all faiths since 1928.

Lew Darrow has devoted his life to serving others with compassion, integrity, and respect.
A graduate of Roosevelt High School, Hyde Park, NY class of 1990, Lew continued his education at Hudson Valley Community College, where he graduated with honors in 2013. He earned both an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science. In January of 2013 he became a New York State Licensed Funeral Director and has since dedicated his professional life to guiding families through some of their most difficult moments with dignity and personalized care.
Lew believes that every family deserves understanding, patience, and thoughtful attention. He takes great pride in helping families honor their loved ones in meaningful ways, always approaching his work with sensitivity and respect.
Beyond his role in funeral service, Lew is deeply committed to his community. He proudly serves as a volunteer firefighter and previously served as Chief of the Roosevelt Fire District in Hyde Park, New York. He is also a bus driver for the Hyde Park Central School District, where he values the opportunity to serve local families in yet another way. In 2025 Lew was elected to the Dutchess County Legislature, continuing his lifelong commitment to public service.
When not serving families or the community, Lew enjoys ATV riding and spending time outdoors.

Kayleen Darrow Rovere
Licensed Funeral Director
Kayleen Darrow Rovere is a proud third-generation funeral director, continuing a family tradition of compassionate service that began in 1928 when her grandfather founded the family funeral home. Family owned and operated for nearly a century; the business has remained dedicated to serving the community with dignity, respect, and personal care.
A graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1982, in Hyde Park, NY, Kayleen went on to further her education at Dutchess Community College. In January 1997 she earned an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Business Administration. She later returned to pursue her calling in the funeral service and graduated with honors in May of 2012 with an a Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Mortuary Science.
Kayleen joined the family funeral home in 2005 to work alongside her father, preparing to carry forward the legacy entrusted to her. She became a licensed New York State Funeral Director in April 2013 and has continued the tradition of providing families with compassionate guidance during life’s most difficult moments. She has also served as a United States Notary Public since 1998, assisting families with important documentation and services.
Today Kayleen proudly carries on the responsibility of ownership and daily operations, ensuring that the values established by her grandfather nearly 100 years ago remain at the heart of every service.
Kayleen is married to her husband Christopher “CJ” Rovere and live in Hyde Park, NY. Outside of her professional life, Kayleen enjoys spending time with her beloved dachshunds, going for walks and traveling. Her commitment to family, community, and service is reflected in both her personal and professional life.
