  Myron Doyl, 85, of Chicopee, MA, passed away at Vassar Brother Medical Center on March 16, 2017. Born on June 23, 1931 to the late Myron Doyl Sr and Frances Cartwright. He attended Poughkeepsie Schools and worked for Western Printing for 30 ½ years until they closed and retired from Merchant Press in Poughkeepsie. At the age of 16, he obtained his pilot license.  He served during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force from 1949-1952. On November 9, 1952, in Poughkeepsie, he married Teresa W. Doyl, his wife of 52 years, who predeceased him. He was a life member of the Northern Dutchess Rod and Gun Club, and also a member of the EAA Airport Organization in Punta Gorda, Fl. He enjoyed flying around Ulster and Dutchess Counties. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.

  He is survived by his current wife Ann Daniele at home, his daughter Helen (Daniel) Bruce of East Fishkill, NY, step children; Gennaro (Julie) of Springfield, MA, Thomas (Chrissy) of GA, Raymond (Sue) of Austin, TX and Louisa Daniele of FL, grandchildren; David Porteous (Jacki) of Hopewell Jct, NY, Kathyrn (Richard) Chase of San Antonio, TX, Richard (Stefanie) Doyl Jr of Naples, FL, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, great grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

  Besides his wife, he is predeceased by his son Richard Doyl Sr, brothers; Robert and Raymond, sister Elizabeth Oakes, granddaughter Lauren Doyl and great granddaughter Mackenzie Gibson.

  Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc. 39 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. 845-452-1840. Very sorry to hear about your Dad. I have many fond memories of his kindness and of chats I would have with him, even somewhat recently at a gun club function. May God grant him eternal rest, while He also comforts and strengthens you.
